Here’s pictures from the semi-pro game Saturday at Edgerton Park, where a player for the Western New York Cougars attacked a referee named Pete McCabe (from Lakeville, NY) with his helmet, snapping off the ref’s nose.

I finally did it: I got my first Tattoo!!!!!

This Tattoo is of a Siberian Blue Robin and a black crow. So what’s the meaning? The robin is in honor of my mother, whose name was Robin (and thus the good in my life). The black crow symbolizes the opposite of what is good in my life, and thus shows balance. Duality is one of my core beliefs, and as you may have been able to tell, the birds are in the shape of a Yin Yang to further symbolize duality. To take the point even further, water and fire are both present.

I want to thank JET from LOVE/HATE Tattoo. Not only was he extremely professional, amazingly fast, and very tolerant of my weak ass (I almost passed out 5 minutes in), he is simply an amazing artist. My wife, Jessi, also got herself a really nice tat (her second) which is also shown to the left.

I thought there was a time when you indicated that you “pump” or have

Lady Gaga, who sings that annoying pop song “Love Game” which features the lyric, “Let’s have some fun this beat is sick, I wanna take a ride on your disco stick,” apparently has her very own disco stick.  Rumors are running wild that she is a hermaphrodite (she has boy and girl parts).  Watch this video closely… man does it look like she’s sportin’ a 3rd leg…

I picked up a couple of albums this weekend and I’m really impressed by both…

First of all, if you like some good old fashion Rock music you need to check out Cage the Elephant. Their self titled album is out in every store that sells CD’s and on iTunes and Amazon right now, and it is fantastic. Great CD to drive to and throw on while you’re drinking with friends. It’s like Jet with a southern twist… great stuff.

The other album I purchased is a little unconventional for our rock fans, but you might enjoy it. It’s K’naan, and the name of his album is “Troubadour.” I had the pleasure of meeting him on Tuesday as he was in our building for our sister station, 98PXY. Man, this guy is good. He infuses rap, hip hop, reggae and a pinch of rock and rhymes lyrical soul that only someone who has seen more oppression and violence then most of us ever will. He grew up in Somalia and you can here the influence in his lyrics. A message I like in his music is that all the “gangstas” who think they have it rough on Avenue D or any other ghetto in the United States wouldn’t last 5 minutes in a place like war torn Somalia. 50 Cents’ pain and struggle is nothing compared to the people of Somalia and several other African nations. It’s a refreshing sound in the rap and hip hop genre that reminds me that it can in fact be excellent when someone actually tries.

As I said last week, I find some headlines to stories I find on the internet to be straight up funny. The story may not be, but the headline is. Here’s my top five for our Saturday, July 25th, 2009.
