Questions for a Tiger
Posted in: Uncategorized
Hope you had a better Thanksgiving weekend than Tiger Woods. I know Tiger is not answering questions about his car accident, but if he was and I was there for the news conference, my first query would be “Mr. Woods, sir, why were you leaving your house at 2:30am? Were you getting diapers for your 9-month-old? Or going for a scenic Fla. drive after eating a big turkey dinner?” Then I would follow up with, “are you not a billionaire? Because sir if I was the first pro athlete to ever make a billion dollars from my winnings, endorsements and personal appearances, I would personally want to answer all questions regarding how bad my appearance seems to appear to your adoring public now sir. And if you have been lucky enough in life, through all your hard work and natural talent, for you to acquire such wealth, wouldn’t you have someone on staff to drive you? And wouldn’t you have someone on retainer to advise you to not hide and cover up anything that the police might want to ask you? And why wouldn’t you talk to the cops if you have nothing to hide?” I’m sure I would be asked to leave that media event if I asked such questions, but inquring minds want to know. And of course I’m not the only one with many questions about this bizarre event. Hitting a fire hydrant is bad enough, but to then nail a tree too, well that’s quite a feat. Better get a new driver Tiger. And maybe new PR advisors while you’re at it sir.
Speaking of the police (who Tiger ironically doesn’t want to speak to) the country mourns the loss of 4 police officers lost in a senseless shooting in Lakewood, Washington, outside of Seattle. 4 cops working their laptops at a coffee shop who get assasinated on a Sunday morning of a holiday weekend, leaving 4 families in shock and all cops on heightened alert. I’ve always said cops have a thankless, brutal job. They never know when they go to work if they’ll be coming home after their shift. Thanks to each and every one of them who are willing to do it. God bless the memories of the 4 fallen heroes: Greg Richards, Tina Griswold, Mark Renniger and Ronald Owens. And God bless all of our troops in law enforcement and the military.
