If you listen to me from 10a-3p on the Buzz or know me, I kind of like Coors Light beer.  So, thanks to my friends Mike and Paddy at Olies on the north coast of America, my life is now complete!  See, Tuesday night I met a great man. A man who brought Coors beer cross country many years ago.  A man who is so smart, he graduated from Cornell University and makes a beer so good, I frequent it on a regular basis.  Tues. night I met Mr. Pete Coors at Olies, and along with our friends Pete Smith, Danny and the crew from the wonderful Wright-Wisner beer distributorship, we shared some Coors product and great laughs on a perfect summer evening here in Rochester.   Three Petes havin’ a blast on the north coast.  So, my life is now complete.  God bless Mr. Coors and God bless our troops!

As I prep to roll out on vacation (hey, I’m in mourning over the loss of dream girl Farrah Fawcett and need time to de-compress), I wish all the best to:

>>> Everybody who was part of the huge crowd at the SandBar at the Inn on the Lake in Canandaigua Wed. night.  It’s always humbling to have so many people show up for an event, so thanks to all who enjoyed a beautiful night on the lake.

>>> Pat The Producer from the Breakfast Buzz, marrying the very sweet and beautiful Jessie Sat. in Lockport.  I have the honor of MCing the event.

>>> Officer Lon Sanford from the Fairport PD as he retires from “the job”. I also have the honor of MCing his big send-off tonight.  Enjoy your freedom Lon and Holly, and welcome back to the dark side.

>>> The very talented and gorgeous Weslea from our country cousins at WBEE. Wes is a great person and successful at everything she does, including marrying her gun-toting hubby Mike. Good luck on your exciting new career as you return home to your roots in New Mexico Wes. We’ll all miss ya baby!

>>> CA lacrosse stud Marshall Johnson and all his classmates at Canandaigua Academy.  I’ll be at Marshall’s big grad party Sun.

>>> all the former members of the CA Color Guard.  All the hot babes are in town for a big party for their leader Brad Stanton.  I’ll check their lovely faces out Sun. afternoon on the north shore of CA Lake.

>>> Officer Kenny Coniglio of the RPD whose retirement party is Sunday night.  I gotta be there for that one…

>>> Kristy Hefke, Conrad Barrett and all the other high school grads hosting parties this weekend.  Have a blast guys, but please be safe.

>>> Holly and Todd from Geneseo who are marrying Monday at Letchworth Park. After a 10-year engagement, they’re finally tieing the knot and I’ll be there to witness the big moment.

>>> Ray and Myra Slattery, along with Lynn and Ron Kozmider who have graciously invited me to their homes for the Ring of Fire on Conesus Lake on July 3rd.  Always a great time…

>>> The Johnsons at The Haven and the Dows at the Vine, locations I’m sure to check out as we celebrate America’s birthday on the 4th of July.  Two families who always look out for The Mayor.

>>> speaking of Johnsons, congrats to supermodel Jennifer Johnson and her GQ styled hubby Vinny Esposito as they celebrate their 1st wedding anniversary on Jul5th. I had the extreme honor of MCing their big day a year ago, and am grateful to be part of their lives.

>>> YOU!  Thanks for putting up with my ramblings, whether by the written or spoken word.  I always appreciate that you take time out of your busy life to put up with my meanderings. I’m now off to meander to all the parties mentioned above with the friends I value above. God bless ‘em all, God bless America on our birthday July 4th and, most importantly,  God bless our troops who provide for our freedom!

Working in radio has provided me many opportunities to live in various cities in the US. I would have to say, I love living in Rochester. Some of you really don’t dig the weather. But, I DO!!! Summers in Rochester are wonderful. I talked to my bestfriend, Lisa, yesterday and it was 99 in KC with a heat index of 110. Yes, it actually felt like 110..which is boiling HOT. Yesterday in Rochester, a nice 78 with no humidity. LOVELY. I remember when I first stepped off the plane to interview here in Rochester. I have never seen such brilliant colors of flowers. They do well here in this climate. The sun doesn”t dry up and kill them. The roses at my house are gorgeous and in full bloom. I enjoy summers in Rochester and yes I even enjoy the winters. The snow is beautiful..even if we do have it for much longer than we’d like. It sure beats 99 degrees :)

Have I told you how lucky I am to have Sugar Lips, my girlfriend, in my life?    The latest example came over Father’s Day weekend.   What did she do?   She made this Father’s Day very special for me.  I’m impressed with the little things she does.   Little things like taking my daughter Aubrey shopping Saturday afternoon.    They picked out a couple of gifts and cards for me.   Little things like celebrating Father’s Day on Saturday night at Carrabba’s.   Why Saturday?   Because I was busy working on Sunday.   And, while I was working, she was kind enough to invite my daughter over to her house to hang with her and her children.   Following that, we met at her brother’s to continue our Father’s Day celebration with her family.   I don’t know what I did to deserve this wonderful woman but I love her and feel so fortunate that I have her in my life.    Thanks for reading my blog and I’ll see you tomorrow morning on 98.9 The Buzz.

I’m very excited that my Dad and niece are coming to visit me.   They’ll be here the first week of August.  Now, I need your help.   My Dad is 75 and I need to keep him busy.    I’m going to put together a “must do” list while he’s in town.   If you can help me out, I would greatly appreciate it.    Places to go, things to do and people to see.   Thanks for all your help.

I don’t have the biggest famliy on the planet, but my extended family is massive. I spent the weekend sharing great times with them. If you know me at all, you can rightly guess that Canandaigua was part of the equation. I celebrated my “nieces” (by love, not blood) Mindy Buck and Nicki Zahn’s 21st birthdays Friday night with a grand, delcious meal at the Waterfront Grill on Lakeshore Dr. in CA. The food (thanks to Sara, Bob the Bartender and Amy) was great, the drinks chilly and the laughs endless. We then toured the city, from Steamboat Landing., Erics Office, Wallys, Rockys and the Niagara on a search for the perfect bar popcorn, aided by Princess K*Roc and plenty of CA support.  Love rollin’ with my nieces who turn heads when they enter the room.

Saturday’s rain led to a change of plans, and sometimes improvisation is th best policy.  My brother Mike (a.k.a. Rockhead)  joined in and we celebrated Father’s Day weekend in memory of my dad Ham. The flooded side streets of CA were no match for us as we trekked through the puddles, including a stop for a big graduation party for Kyle and Caitlin Meath.  Love that family!

Sunday it was time to get back to Monroe Co. to do the right thing and help the Vietnam Vets Chapter 20 at the Ride to the Dakota.  A huge crowd of at least 1000 supported the cause at a great partyhosted by Sherry and Dave Danzig at the Dakota Grill in Hilton/Hamlin.  Tony Cenzi donated a beautifulcustom made bike worth $32,500.  We were assisted by Kenny Moore, a Viet Vet who served and fought for us valiantly years ago.  Kenny and his comrades continue  the fight to help others. God bless Ken and Dave and all of our troops!

Looks like the IndyCar Series is returning to Watkins Glen. The Camping World Grand Prix At The Glen is July 3rd-5th. They have a big weekend lined up with fireworks, live music from Presidents Of The United States Of America, some chick named Danica Patrick, and of course…IndyCar Racing.

This morning I got to jump into a “slightly” modified (and BARELY street legal) IndyCar.  We darted around downtown. The cops showed up. It was fun.

In 5 days I will be MARRIED!!! Let me answer some of the most common and overly asked questions I get…

1. Are you excited?

- No. Not at all. Why would I be excited about the biggest day of my young life? That’s sarcasm, of course I’m excited!!!

2. Are you nervous?

- If you’re nervous about getting married then why are you getting married? I’m a little nervous about the day going well, but really there’s little I can do about that… it will be great I’m sure.

3. Are you ready?

-This question drives me nuts! No, I’m not ready. Are we supposed to have a venue for this? We didn’t really invite anyone either… LOL yes we are ready… or at least as ready as we’re going to be.

4. How many days until the big day?

- I don’t have a problem with this question, unless you’re my boss who has asked me literally every day for the last 2 weeks. :-)

I’m just having fun… I love that people care enough to ask me about the wedding, even if the questions are repetitive. Thanks to everyone for caring! :-)

First we tracked the progress of a lost black bear in the city (no happy ending). Then yesterday on the Workday Buzz we were all over the manhunt for bank robbers in Elba, Genesee County of all places (happy conclusion with 3 dudes busted). Man, I am whooped from being the News Beacon of western NY! Chasin’ down animals is not an easy gig. Thanks to all of our on the scene reporters who assisted me on the Buzz.

Thank God the weekend has arrived to help me decompress from all the reporting…..

>>> The Xerox Rochester Intl. Jazz Fest continues in the East End. Had the great pleasure of checking out Michael McDonald last night at the Eastman Theatre. He sounded great, pulled out some ol’ Doobie Bros and Motown tunes. What a beautiful venue. On your way downtown to check the music, stop and see Beck on the deck at Easy on East at the corner of Scio. Good way to prime up for the tunes..then stop in to Maxs for a pre-gamer with Elissa and Neil Doran….
>>> The boys are rockin’ the country out in Stafford with the firemen’s carnival and parade tonight. The LeRoy FD called me on air as they were doing thier annual walk to Stafford for the chaos. And over in Ontario Co. it’s the Shortsville Fire Carnival with Iversen & The Battling George Bros.  Stay safe brothers…
>>> The Red Wings kick off a 10 day homestand with fireworks tonight and Sat. and an afternoon game to take dad to Sunday. Buy pop a couple of chilled brews and watch him run the bases after the game. That’s worth some Father’s Day laughs right there…
>>> The Parma Bicentennial parade is Sat. starting at Hilton High @ 1pm. Hopefully the rain will hold off for ol’ Parma’s celebration…
>>> Speaking of Hilton, join our entire Buzz Batallion at the Dakota Grill in Hilton Sunday for the Ride to the Dakota. We’ll be raising much needed cash for the Wilmot Cancer Center and our heroes from the Vietnam Veterans Chapter 20. See ya there around 1400 (military time for 2pm for those of you from the deep westside). God bless all dads on Fathers Day weekend (like my beloved pop T. Hamilton Kennedy, US Marine Corps) and God bless all of our troops!

Ryan Shaw is one incredible singer who is in town for the jazz festival.   I had never heard of this guy until he dropped by our studio Friday morning.   As Frank DeBlase says, “Wilson Pickett and Jackie Wilson may be gone, but it’s comforting to know someone’s still doing their work down here. “    Ryan has a voice unlike anyone out there today.    His CD is This is Ryan Shaw.   His website is www.thisisryanshaw.com   He’s performing tonight, Friday, at the East and Chestnut stage around 7 p.m.   It’s a FREE show.    See him tonight and you can thank me later.    Ryan Shaw, remember that name because this guy is going to be a star.   Thanks for reading my blog and I’ll see you tomorrow on the radio.
